Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor Clowns NFL For Issuing Drug Test After Solid Performance

It's bad to be good in the NFL. Jonathan Taylor, the once-disgruntled Indianapolis Colts running back, received a 'random' drug test from the NFL after scoring his first touchdown of the season on Sunday.

Taylor went beyond contributing the touchdown for Indianapolis. Facing the Cleveland Browns — and losing, 39-38 — Taylor logged 75 rushing yards on 18 attempts, also adding three receptions for 45 yards.

The NFL seemed to find the performance suspicious and sent JT a drug test as part of a weekly testing initiative by the league to 'randomly' test 10 players.

Taylor clearly has trust issues — calling the NFL out on social media for adding a damper to his RB1-level outing. And of course, compounding the already tough loss suffered by Indy.

"Drug tested soon as I get back in the end zone," Taylor posted on Monday with a laughing emoji.

The NFL already holds a pesky reputation of drug testing players after good performances; heck, they once tried issuing Seahawks wideout D.K. Metcalf a drug test over a viral video of him leading. If anything appears just an ounce fishy, the NFL is all over it.

To also play devil's advocate, the NFL issued a couple of PED-related suspensions to start the year. Saints rookie quarterback Jake Haener and former Dallas Cowboys running back Ronald Jones started the year on performance-enhancing drug bans.

Just last week, the Colts lost standout defensive tackle Grover Stewart for six games after violating the league's PED guidelines.

Paranoia runs rampant over at NFL labs.
