Nike Chooses Awful Brand Representative By Signing Brandon Miller To A Shoe Deal

Nike does not care one bit about the reputation of the players who represent the company. After all, why else would it sign Brandon Miller to a lucrative shoe deal?

The sports apparel giant signed the Charlotte Hornets rookie to a shoe contract along with 12 other draftees from his class. Miller was the second pick of his draft, behind San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama.

Here’s the full list of players Nike signed.

While most of the players on this list are fairly respectable people, Miller isn’t one of them. The former Alabama sensation provided a murderer with a gun in a fatal shooting in February. He is now the center of a wrongful death lawsuit, so maybe he’ll use this new deal as a way to pay a potential settlement.

Nike is no stranger to partnering with suspect individuals, such as Colin Kaeprnick. The disgruntled kneeling quarterback remains relevant because of what Nike has done for him.

Regardless of past decisions, Nike had the chance to distance itself from someone who has a suspect domestic history. But Nike just...didn’t do it.
