'Home Alone' House Is Up For Sale, But It'll Cost Ya!

Millennials rejoice!

The iconic ‘Home Alone’ house from the classic 1990 Christmas movie is officially up for sale and can be yours … for a hefty price.

The 9,000 square-foot house includes five bedrooms, six bathrooms, two laundry rooms - so you can channel your inner Kevin McCallister and practice shooting Starting Lineup figurines with your BB Gun, as well as some new additions such as a basketball court, an indoor movie theater and a fully equipped gym!

And it will only cost you $5.2 million!

HOWEVER…

Before you start cashing in grandpa's inheritance, there's a few things you should know.

First off, the home is located in Chicago's North Shore section, called Winnetka. You thought Harry and Marv were bad news? Just Google "Chicago crime" and you'd wish you were dealing with just the Wet Bandits.

Oh, and I should probably let you know that the house itself wasn't used in the actual Home Alone film. That might put a damper on your excitement.

Unfortunately, the home was too small to fit the cast and crew, so they were only able to film the outdoor scenes as well as a few indoor ones, such as Kevin going down the staircase (which still exists!) on his sleigh.

The rest of the film and all the hilarious shenanigans and booby traps were actually filmed at a makeshift set that was built at a local high school gymnasium.

No word if the old man still lives across the street.

HOME ALONE IS ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC CHRISTMAS MOVIES

Now listen, I am a HUGE Home Alone fan. I even wrote about Home Alone 2: Lost In New York being one of the best movie sequels of all time. I am one of those people that can watch Home Alone at any time of year - even if it's 90 degrees and sunny outside!

Which leads me to this brilliant idea I just came up with.

I may start a GoFundMe to raise the money to purchase the house. And then, I'll redo the interior and make it just like the movie for all nostalgic fans out there!

It makes perfect sense - I can charge admission for people that want to tour the house during the holidays and recoup / pay back some of the expenses. I mean, hey - that's what the owners from A Christmas Story are doing with the house from the film. They renovated it into a replica of how it was used in the movie - leg lamp and all and are now making money on it.

Ah, I just realized I'd still have to be in Chicago though. Bummer.
