Comedian Tim Allen Praises Erika Kirk’s Powerful Forgiveness Of Charlie Kirk’s Assassin
The world continues to grieve Charlie Kirk's passing
When Erika Kirk forgave the man accused of killing her husband, her words resonated far beyond politics — touching Hollywood itself.
Among those moved was actor and comedian Tim Allen, who for sixty years had carried bitterness toward the drunk driver who killed his father.

In November 1964, Allen’s father, Gerald Dick, a high school principal, was struck and killed by a drunk driver in Alabama.
Allen was eleven at the time, and the wound stayed with him for decades.
It wasn’t until Erika Kirk’s remarks at her husband’s memorial that Allen found the courage to forgive.
On Thursday, Allen wrote on X:
"When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: ‘That man… that young man… I forgive him.’ That moment deeply affected me."

He added, "I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. I will say those words now as I type: ‘I forgive the man who killed my father.’ Peace be with you all."
Allen’s statement came just four days after Erika buried her husband, Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed on September 10 during his America Comeback Tour stop at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Charlie Kirk’s influence as a man of faith and conservative advocate had long extended beyond politics. He founded Turning Point USA, energized young conservatives, and filled arenas with his message.
On September 21, thousands filled State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, for Charlie’s memorial.
Erika Kirk took the stage and, addressing the man accused of murdering her husband, declared:
"That man… that young man… I forgive him. I forgive him because it’s what Christ did, and it’s what Charlie would do."
It was Erika’s decision to forgive her husband’s killer that cut through for Allen.
The impact of Charlie Kirk’s death — and Erika’s response — stretched far beyond politics.
The New York Yankees held a moment of silence at Yankee Stadium. The NFL issued condolences, with players across the league bowing their heads before kickoff.
At Penn State, the storied Whiteout game was dedicated to Kirk’s memory. Oregon coach Dan Lanning honored him as a devoted Ducks fan during his weekly press conference.
The world continues to grieve Charile Kirk's passing.
