Trinity Rodman, Daughter Of Dennis, Making Sure Her Own Name Is Known

Former NBA rebounding machine Dennis Rodman once kicked a TV camerman under the basket. Now, his daughter is kicking something that won't get her in trouble. In fact, what Trinity Rodman is kicking is being celebrated.

That's because Trinity Rodman, 18, is playing for the Washington Spirit of the National Women's Soccer League. She was the second overall draft pick last June, and she made her debut over the weekend.

"This has been my dream forever. I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years old," Trinity said.

Trinity, the daughter of Dennis Rodman and Michelle Moyer, says she's aiming to make a name all for herself.

"He was an amazing athlete, and I got those genes from him, but I'm excited to be known as Trinity Rodman and not just as Rodman's daughter," she said. "I'm excited to pave my own path and get better throughout this journey."

She's off to a great start, as Trinity was named Player of the Match.

"The kid is just brilliant. She’s a machine as an athlete, just unbelievable," said Spirit coach Richie Burke. "When you play against her, you train with her, you see how quickly she closes you down. She’s deceptively quick to close you down, but now she’s getting tactically better, too."
