Texans Expected To Interview Bills DC Leslie Frazier

Every team with a coaching vacancy seems to be interviewing every available candidate at every possible opportunity, and the Houston Texans are no exception.

We've already heard of the Texans' interest in multiple candidates, including former Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell. Now comes a report from Pro Football Talk that they intend to interview Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.

Frazier also served as a DC with the Baltimore Ravens (2016) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2014-15). He has been with Buffalo since 2017. He won an NFL championship as a player with the Chicago Bears in 1985.

Success tends to lead to interviews and buzz about assistant coaches/coordinators, and the Bills have indeed had plenty of success this season. They won the AFC East and edged the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the playoffs. So Frazier has naturally become a head coaching candidate.

Meanwhile, the Texans (4-12) are coming off a disaster of a season in which they fired former coach/GM Bill O'Brien after four games. There has also been endless speculation about the future of quarterback Deshaun Watson, who may or may not be happy with how the team has conducted its coaching search.

The Texans did became the first team with an opening to fill its head of football operations role, reaching a six-year deal with former New England Patriots executive Nick Caserio last week.
