Saquon Barkley Is Already Putting In Work With His New QB Jalen Hurts

It's been just a few weeks since Saquon Barkley signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, and the two-time Pro Bowler is wasting no time getting acquainted with his new quarterback.

Barkley posted a photo to his Instagram story on Sunday of what appears to be a training session with Jalen Hurts.

The post comes just weeks after Barkley left the New York Giants in free agency after six seasons with the organization. The running back signed a three-year contract with Philadelphia worth $37.75 million with $26 million guaranteed.

"When it came to my attention the Eagles were interested in me, I definitely got excited about it," Barkley said. "Watching from afar, everything they are about, the culture here, the fans here, I’m just happy to be a part of this organization. I’m ready to go."

Meanwhile, Giants fans are significantly less excited about their star running back joining their NFC East rivals.

Tiki Barber, the Giants' all-time-leading rusher, ranted about Barkley's decision to join "the enemy" on WFAN’s Evan and Tiki — proclaiming, "He’s dead to us."

"The fact that Saquon would even contemplate going to play for that team in Philadelphia is insulting to his Giants history and legacy," Barber had previously said about a potential Barkley move to Philly. "Do not go to the Eagles, because if you do, that appreciation and respect and reverence that we all have for you, Saquon, will be lost. It will be gone. We want to still respect and love him."

But Saquon didn't listen. And now, he'll attempt to help revive an Eagles team that finished last year in an embarrassing fashion. After starting the season 10-1, Philly lost six of its last seven games, including a 32-9 blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

"This is just an opportunity to grow. This is just an opportunity to take that next step into what we desire and what we want to be," Hurts said.

And he's hoping the addition of Saquon Barkley is a step in the right direction. Just don't expect a warm welcome at MetLife Stadium this fall.
