Lakers Celebrate Luka Doncic's Extension At Backstreet Boys Concert In Las Vegas
The Los Angeles Lakers guard just signed a three-year, $165-million extension.
Oh my God, he's back again! Luka Doncic, that is.
The newly fit and trim, five-time NBA All-Star signed a three-year, $165-million extension with the Los Angeles Lakers over the weekend. So Doncic and his teammates celebrated just like any self-respecting grown men would — they went to a Backstreet Boys concert.
Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, future Lakers majority owner Mark Walter and general manager Rob Pelinka took a group of Lakers players — which did not include LeBron or Bronny James — to The Sphere in Las Vegas on Saturday to watch Doncic's favorite boy band perform.
We know BSB is his favorite boyband because he said as much during an interview with ESPN's Malika Andrews in April.
And look how much fun they had!
For the Backstreet Boys' Into the Millennium residency at the Sphere, fans are encouraged to wear all-white outfits, with a splash of Millennium blue. If you don't know what that looks like, see the 1999 album cover. (That's when Luka Doncic was born, by the way.)
But judging by backstage photos and videos, it looks like Lakers players nailed the dress code.
Aside from jamming with millennial heartthrobs, Doncic has been grinding this offseason — hitting two-a-day training sessions and adhering to a strict diet to beat the accusations that he's too fat and out of shape to play at an elite level.

And with this new extension, it's clear the Lakers have faith in him, too.
"I just signed my extension with the Lakers," Doncic posted on X on Saturday. "Excited to keep working to bring championships to LA and make Laker Nation proud. Grateful to the Lakers, my teammates and all the fans who’ve shown so much love since day one. This is just the beginning."
Now, let's get Nick Carter and the gang five courtside seats at Crypto.com Arena sometime this winter, eh? Maybe a little halftime show? At least a National Anthem.
