Kyle Lowry's Debut For Philadelphia 76ers Interrupted By Bleeding Forehead

Poor Kyle Lowry had a rough debut with the Philadelphia 76ers — suffering a bloody injury to his forehead on Thursday night. Lowry's bloody incident occurred in the second quarter of Philly's game against the New York Knicks.

The six-time All-Star and 2019 NBA champion (Toronto Raptors) arrived with the Sixers after being traded from Miami to Charlotte in January.

The Hornets bought out his contract and Lowry landed with the Eastern Conference contender.

Knicks center Jericho Sims inadvertently dropped his elbow on Lowry's face during a chase for the ball.

Lowry immediately fell in pain. Sixers personnel came to Lowry on the court and helped him walk off, holding a towel to his forehead, slowing down the bloody cut.

Broadcast cameras caught a reaction from Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson, wincing at the sight of Lowry's injury.

It's seemingly all uphill for Lowry, from now on.

WATCH:

Lowry showed off his moxie: accepting six stitches, patching it up and jumping back in the game later on. The performance wasn't particularly spectacular on the stat sheet for the 37-year-old guard. He finished the game tallying 11 points, four rebounds, and five assists, and showed off his toughness along the way.

New York won, 110-96, over the 76ers. Depending on the severity of the blow, Thursday will still be a night to remember for Kyle Lowry.
