Harold Varner III Becomes Latest LIV Golfer To Call Out Organization's Social Media Team After 'Crazy' Tweet

Players who have joined LIV Golf seem happy with their decision, but if there is one thing worth griping over, it's the circuit's own social media team. The sole purpose of LIV's social media outlets is to promote its players and the product itself, and somehow, they're failing to do so. Harold Varner III questioning a post from LIV's X account, formerly Twitter, is just the latest example of the social media team's struggles.

LIV shared a graphic of its 2024 team rosters at the end of January and misspelled Jon Rahm's name. Rahm is without question LIV's biggest signing to date therefore you would imagine the social team would make sure his name was spelled correctly, but they didn't.

If we backtrack to November, Brooks Koepka showed some frustration with LIV taking its time to release the 2024 schedule by firing off Instagram comments.

Now we have Varner publicly shaming LIV's X account after he fired an opening round of 63 in Las Vegas on Thursday. Varner finished dead last in LIV's season opener in Mexico a week ago, so LIV's social team elected to make a graphic highlighting his comeback, so to speak. It was the caption of ‘Golf. It’s a crazy game' that understandably got under Varner's skin.

In LIV's defense, Varner finishing last in a tournament five days prior to being in a tie for the lead after day one in Vegas is a bit crazy, and the social media team wouldn't have been doing its job properly if it didn't highlight his bounce back. Then again, saying it's "crazy" for Varner to do such a thing when he's a past winner of both a European Tour event and a LIV tournament is a bit out of touch.

Varner has been refreshingly honest about why he chose to make the move to LIV and how it had everything to do with money, so it's no surprise he's letting his employer know he's not exactly thrilled with the social team at the moment.
