Deion Sanders Has A New No. 1 Kid Atop His Power Rankings And It's Quite The Cinderella Story

Shilo Sanders continues his unprecedented accent to the top of the Sanders Children Power Rankings.

And on his 24th birthday just this week, the journey – which started at the very bottom back in August – came full circle.

In a viral Instagram post, Deion Sanders named son Shilo his favorite kid, putting an exclamation point on what has been a whirlwind seven months for the now 24-year-old.

"Happy Birthday to my FAVORITE FAVORITE SON @ShiloSanders," Deion wrote. "I Love u, I'm Proud of u and I appreciate the man you've matured into. Keep on growing and growing."

Shilo Sanders is an underdog story we can all root for

What a run for Shilo Sanders! It took 24 long years, but he finally did it. He really did it.

What a moment.

For those who haven't kept track of the Deion Sanders Kids Power Rankings, Shilo started the season back in August ranked dead last at No. 5. Tough spot, but then again, so did the Houston Texans.

The late-summer rankings looked a little like this: Deion Jr. was ranked first, followed by Shelomi, Shedeur Sanders, Deiondra and then, finally, Shilo.

Slowly but surely, though, Shilo – the third kid – began to climb. You know what they say?

As one kid gets sacked every other play, the others start to rise. A tale as old as time.

By Thanksgiving, Deion named Shilo his third favorite kid – a massive two-spot leap right before the holiday season.

"He's consistently balling," Deion said at the time.

Apparently, that momentum carried into 2024 and vaulted Shilo straight to the top. Huge moment for the Colorado DB in what will be a huge year for the Buffaloes.

Now, the question becomes: can Shilo stay there? It's one thing to climb to the top of the mountain, but staying there is a whole other ballgame.

Buckle up.
