New College Football Video Game Details Appear To Have Leaked

It appears like some FCS programs might have let the cat out of the bag when it comes to the new college football video game.

EA Sports recently dropped the announcement trailer for "College Football 25," and it marks the first time in more than a decade a new college football game will be released.

To say fans are excited might be the understatement of 2024. People are AMPED. However, details about the new game remain shrouded in mystery. More info will come in May, and one major question fans have is whether or not FCS teams will be included like the really old games.

Turns out that answer might now be public.

Will FCS teams be in "College Football 25"?

A viral Reddit thread popped up Saturday night with one key observation:

Multiple FCS programs were either hinting they'd be in the new game or outright stating it.

That's a huge pivot from early reports that FCS teams would not be included in the new video game. While there's nothing official, it certainly appears that might not actually be the case, judging from the social media posts.

Take a look at them below, judge for yourself and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

In one of the most interesting parts of the situation, Gardner-Webb deleted a post claiming the program was in the game, according to the Reddit thread, and later shared a post hedging a lot more.

You can see a screenshot of the deleted version and a tweet of the new below.

Now, what should fans make of this situation? Honestly, I don't have a great answer for that because it's impossible to know for sure.

Was it all a coordinated stunt among FCS schools? Perhaps, but that seems a bit much. Was it programs just getting in on the excitement? Again, very possible. Or, do these programs know something the rest of us don't and just dropped the news?

The most interesting part by far is Gardner-Webb deleting a post claiming the program is in the game and later hedging. Very strange.

I guess we'll find out more in May, but FCS teams being in the game would be awesome. I would love to throw Montana State in the Big Ten and build an untouchable dynasty in Bozeman like I did in the old games. Inject it into my soul. Or, this will all turn out to be about nothing.
