Bubba Wallace Responds To Fan Video That Shows NASCAR Driver Steer Into Photographer In Daytona Pits

NASCAR fans are pissed at Bubba Wallace after a video made the rounds Friday night that appeared to show him intentionally try to run over a photographer in the Daytona 500 pits.

How's THAT for an accusation!?

No, not all is what it seems. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to those trying to get Bubba locked up forever, but I have to be fair here.

Nobody is harder on Bubba (reasonably, of course) than I am. I think he's the most dramatic driver in the garage, can absolutely be a head-case, and needs to chill the hell out a lot of the time.

That being said, when fans try to stir up stuff unfairly on Elon's insufferable app, I have to step in and defend people when necessary.

That's what I'm doing here. No, Bubba Wallace didn't try to run someone over after Daytona 500 practice. Not seriously, at least!

So, it doesn't look great at first glance. Bubba's certainly playing it a little fast and loose with that left turn.

Upon further review, though, it turns out that's his personal camera guy, Nico Banda.

As far as I'm concerned, that makes it a nothing-burger. Sorry. Again, fair is fair. Who the hell hasn't done that with one of their buddies? Fake-running over people is a staple in this country between bros. Just is.

If you see your chance to scare the piss out of your buddy when you're driving towards him, you have to take it. If you don't, you're a loser who doesn't like to have fun.

Frankly, I've nearly been run over a dozen times in a NASCAR garage. It's the Wild Wild West down there.

Now, some will say, "Bubba's PR team is just making him say that!" I get it. But come on, let's be normal here for two seconds. I'm all for a good conspiracy theory, especially when it involves Bubba Wallace.

Nobody in the NASCAR garage moves the needle more than Bubba. Ever since the noose incident, it's been an all-out war between you folks and Bubba Wallace. I get it. You either love him or despise him.

I know where most of you stand – believe me, I know.

But this is a reach if I've ever seen one, and I won't stand for it. Can't do it. Not in good faith, at least.

So, I'm putting on my Big J NASCAR hat and ruling this … fair game! No harm, no foul.

Carry on.
