Brandon Aiyuk's Girlfriend, Best Friend Suggest He's Done In San Francisco

Brandon Aiyuk is under contract for one more season with the San Francisco 49ers. But that doesn't necessarily mean he's staying.

Still dealing with the sting of the overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, the Niners wide receiver spoke with the media Tuesday.

One reporter asked Aiyuk how he’ll remember this year's 49ers — after claiming the NFC’s No. 1 seed then falling just short of a ring.

"Just guys that came in and worked to be champions," he said while tearing up. "Every single day."

When asked if he wanted to remain with the 49ers, he said, "If it’s the right move." Aiyuk added that means "being a champion."

Those closest to Aiyuk, though, were a little less cryptic.

His girlfriend, Rochelle Searight, posted a TikTok video, hinting that the 25-year-old might have played his last game with San Francisco.

To add even more fuel to the fire, Aiyuk's best friend, Draysean Hudson, was very blunt on the receiver's future in the Bay Area.

"This is the exact reason why we leaving San Francisco," Hudson wrote in a series of messages in an Instagram Story. "Thank you 49ers for drafting my brother we are forever grateful. BA to Vegas."

He added: "Why does your All Pro 1300 have 3 catches in the Super Bowl??"

Aiyuk has spent his entire career with the 49ers. The team drafted him with the No. 25 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. Since then, he has blossomed into one of the league's most efficient receivers. He averaged 17.9 yards per reception, caught 71.4% of his passes and totaled 1,342 receiving yards in 2023 — all career highs.

The wideout is entering the final year of his rookie contract after the Niners picked up his fifth-year option last off-season. Still, he could be a trade candidate if he and the team can't come to terms on a long-term extension.
