Report: Mahomes To Need Surgery For Turf Toe

The Chiefs star QB reportedly needs surgery on his turf toe injury.

This news doesn't change any of our thoughts on the Super Bowl. Mahomes will use a carbon fiber insert, tape and a painkilling injection to be effective. In fact, my favorite prop is over Mahomes' rushing yards but that number is continuing to climb from a start of 18.5 yards.

Given that the recovery from a potential surgery could be six months, the big toe plantar plate injury is more likely to jeopardize the start of 2021 season for Mahomes than anything for today.

During the game three weeks ago, we at www.profootballdoc.com identified this turf toe injury based on video. Thankfully our thoughts on Mahomes' full participation today won't change.
