The Carolina Panthers announced they are parting ways with offensive coordinator Joe Brady heading into the final five games of the season.

The team made the announcement after Brady met with head coach Matt Rhule Sunday morning.

“I met with Joe this morning and informed him that I have decided to make a change,” Rhule said. “I’m very grateful to him for his time and effort in helping us get established over this past year and a half.”

The Panthers, who have lost the last two games and are 5-7 on the season, hired Brady in January 2020. He is known to be the architect of the Joe Burrow scheme on the national title LSU team.

Senior offensive assistant Jeff Nixon will coordinate the offense, alongside the rest of the offensive coaching staff, for the final five games of the season.

Nixon enters his second season as senior offensive assistant and running backs coach after spending the last three seasons on Rhule’s staff as Baylor’s co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach.

  1. “Firing a Coordinator” is the traditional first line of defense when a Head Coach feels his own seat getting HOT! … It was only two years ago that Brady was celebrated as THE New Guru of Offensive Coordinating … Tuff Bidness …
