Joe Brady Appears to Be Major Contender for Falcons Job

Joe Brady, the 31-year-old offensive whiz who was the architect of the Joe Burrow scheme on the national title LSU team and spent this season as the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, is emerging as a major contender for the vacant Atlanta Falcons head coaching job, per multiple reports.

“Industry sources think Brady’s best shot is in Atlanta, which has interviewed Saints assistant general manager of pro personnel Terry Fontenot for their GM opening,” writes Joe Person of The Athletic. “Brady and Fontenot worked together in New Orleans when Brady was an offensive assistant for Sean Payton.”

“This week, the 31-year-old Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator interviewed for three head-coaching jobs, and a source was confident about his chances with the Falcons,” add Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano from ESPN. “The interview went quite well.”

I wrote earlier this week that the Falcons have the worst coaching job of the six vacant spots due to their cap issues and the fact that Matt Ryan has them in no man’s land. However, perhaps it’s a spot where an offensive guru could come in and make an immediate difference?
