TNF Recap: Brady, Playoff Lenny Lead Bucs To Week 6 Win Against Jalen Hurts' Eagles

On Thursday night, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had an evening not unlike the one they had in Super Bowl LV, which they won, especially in the offense schematic. The tandem of Brady and Leonard Fournette just ate up yardage.

The Bucs stunted the NFC East hopeful Eagles by limiting quarterback Jalen Hurts to 115 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Eagles had a collective 213 yards of offense, and Hurts added two rushing scores to fuel a faint rally late in the game. The team was down 28-7 halfway through the third quarter. Philly then managed to score 15 unanswered points, but ran out of time. Bucs won, 28-22.

Tampa Bay's defense maintained a strong effort for nearly three quarters, considering the loss of cornerbacks Sean Murphy-Bunting, Carlton Davis and newcomer Richard Sherman, who left with a hamstring injury in the first quarter.

Quez Watkins led Philly in receiving, catching three passes for a measly 44 yards. First-round wideout DeVonta Smith was held to two receptions for 31 yards.

Brady, however, was efficient. He completed 34-of-42 passes, threw for 297 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Playoff Lenny also had a sensational outing. He added 81 yards on 22 carries, caught 6 passes for 46 yards and scored two touchdowns, which also made plenty of fantasy owners happy.

Filling in at tight end for the injured Rob Gronkowski, O.J. Howard caught 6 catches for 49 yards and recorded the game's first score, a 2-yard touchdown delivered by Brady.

For the second straight week, Antonio Brown led the team in receiving (9 catches, 93 yards, 1 TD), fueling the notion of a potential revival for the former Steelers great, who sits atop an already loaded receiving corps in Tampa. Back in his day, Brown's ceiling was best receiver in the league.

Tampa Bay improves to 5-1, while the Eagles fall to 2-4. The Bucs visit the Chicago Bears in Week 7, while the Eagles move on to the Las Vegas Raiders, led by interim head coach Rich Bisaccia.
