Tim Tebow Reveals What He Told Urban Meyer After Video Leak
One of the closest figures to Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer has been his former quarterback from Florida, Tim Tebow. In a vexing week for Meyer following a video leaked of the coach getting intimate with a young woman at a bar, despite being married, Tebow is speaking out with an honest message for the coach to listen and hopefully take to heart on a path to improvement.
Tebow went on ESPN's First Take to discuss Urban's situation and what he talked through with a coach that's long been a mentor to the former player. Tebow was candid in the emotional damage that spread on behalf of the video, also addressing how Meyer looks to regain the confidence of his teammates and family.
"When I first saw and heard about what happened, my heart was hurting for Miss Shelley" said Tebow. "Coach shared with me that one of the hardest times of his life. He apologized, but he didn't need to apologize to me."
With the organization in Jacksonville and owner Shad Khan vigilant on how Meyer will redeem himself from the unpleasant scene, Tebow assured the audience that the rookie head coach is not taking things lightly.
"He is hurting. I think for some of the guys, he will have to earn back their trust and respect," added Tebow.
Pundits can debate Tebow's on-field play but can never doubt his virtues and advice off the field.
