Texans May Be Softening Stance On Return In Possible Deshaun Watson Trade

The Houston Texans may be getting closer to a trade for Deshaun Watson.

Watson seems committed to forcing a trade out of Houston, and FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer said Sunday the team is beginning to "soften" their asking price for the quarterback.

Glazer said that despite the quarterback issues in Houston, there was no chance Watson would be suiting up for the team.

"Nope, not at all. And Deshaun Watson made it clear he does not want to play for the Houston Texans," Glazer said on "FOX NFL Sunday." "But it’s interesting because while we went into this season, the Texans were not really fielding phone calls. They weren’t open to trade talks unless somebody was going to give them a ridiculous trade offer – more than six draft picks. They’ve already been offered three ones and three threes. However, I was told this past week their stance started to soften a little bit with that."

Watson is currently being investigated by authorities and the NFL after 22 active lawsuits were filed earlier this year alleging sexual assault and inappropriate behavior.

It seems as though the Texans planned to sit Watson all season, but that hasn’t stopped the team from lowering their trade demands for the quarterback.

Glazer said that the Dolphins are the "obvious" trade partner and Watson could still play for any team he is traded to immediately.
