OSU QB Quinn Ewers Lands Supercharged F-250 In NIL Deal

It's being called "the baddest truck in Ohio," and Quinn Ewers, the No. 1 quarterback out of the Class of 2022, who skipped his senior season of high school football to enroll early at Ohio State, took possession of the Ford F-250 over the weekend as part of a Name, Image, Likeness deal.

Rick Ricart, whose family has dominated the Columbus car market for decades, announced Saturday that 18-year-old Ewers will now be driving around Columbus in the 7.3 liter supercharged 250 with custom wheels, suspension, exhaust and whatever else Ricart could add to the truck.

For those keeping track at home, in early August, Ewers inked a beverage deal with Holy Kombucha, which he called the "best Texas drink company." Now he has a truck to handle his Holy Kombucha drinks, even though he's yet to take a snap for the Buckeyes.

As part of the truck deal, Ricart will donate a dollar for every mile Ewers puts on the truck to A Kid Again, a children's charity that "provides cost-free and recurring events for children with life-threatening conditions."

Former Buckeyes All-American offensive lineman Kirk Barton, who's working with Ricart on these player deals, says we're seeing the younger players get bigger NIL deals because the brands can secure the players for three years vs. deals with upperclassmen which will be over in a year or two.

"When you get in with a superstar freshman who's riding this huge wave of hype, like Jack Sawyer and Quinn Ewers, it just makes sense," Barton said of NIL deals with 18-year-old college football players.
