Quinn Ewers Inks First NIL Deal After Skipping Senior Year of High School

Videos by OutKick

Quinn Ewers is skipping his senior year of high school to go ahead and join the Ohio State football program. The reason for that decision is simple: he wants to be able to capitalize on his name, image and likeness, which is something he can’t do at the high school level.

In other words, we should’ve all seen Ewers’ Monday tweet coming.

The five-star quarterback recently signed his first NIL deal with Holy Kombucha drinks and shared a post about it on Twitter. The company got its money’s worth with Ewers, who had to make three different tweets to fit in the entire pitch.

“I may be leaving Texas soon to take it to the next level but I made sure to take the best Texas drink company with me,” Ewers tweeted. “I am pumped to be representing Holy Beverages for many years ahead so that they will always make sure my fridge is loaded with Holy Tepache and Holy Kombucha.

“Holy’s drinks are ridiculously good and so is their mission ‘delivering healthy beverages with Purpose’. Holy is the National Partner of @hopesquad, which is an inspiring organization to improve mental health and suicide prevention awareness in schools across the country. So who wants to join the Holy team with me and take Holy and Hope Squad to the next level? You know I like to win.”

Sounds like mission accomplished to me.

  1. Yeah none of this is shaking out to look like a good thing for any of these young athletes. Lol so now they’re skipping an entire year of high school now in order to cash in on some short term profits that are most likely not even guaranteed. All of these kids are going to get absolutely duped into terrible contracts that use their NIL for the short term and result in zero long term gains for them on the backend when their career is over and they don’t make it to the next level. Clay is a fucking idiot for promoting this reckless path for college sports I mean this is just a clown show now.

    • Oh yeah for sure you know mom and dad were licking their chops when he started getting offers. Unfortunately especially those coming from single parent homes that will end up being the ultimate driving force when it is all said and done. The level of irresponsibility in this being enacted is mind numbing. It is making College athletics seem like even more of a racket then they already were. Lmao don’t let the universities take advantage of the children! Instead let the Corporations with absolutely zero liability on their end! Also how do you justify who is truly deserving of a full ride academic scholarship now with these deals being levied out?
