Nashville Police Officers Swept Apartments Ahead Of Explosion, Perhaps Saving Lives

Police officers who responded to a suspicious vehicle were "blown to the ground" by an explosion that rocked downtown Nashville on Christmas morning, according to news outlet Breaking911.

Per the report, the police "swept apartments door-to-door before blast occurred, likely saving lives." At least one of the officers responding to the incident is suffering from hearing loss.

Authorities received reports of a suspicious vehicle at approximately 6:30 a.m., and the Metro Nashville Police’s hazardous devices unit was responding to the call just before the blast.

The explosion reportedly damaged dozens of buildings and is believed to be an intentional act.
