Yanks' Frazier On IL With Vertigo, Not From Being That High In Standings

Those Damn Yankees just never have things go their way. Ya hate to see it. The latest bomb out of the Bronx has left-fielder Clint Frazier headed to the injured list. His IL-stint comes days after he was forced to leave a game against the Angles with dizziness. Vertigo was mentioned by manager Aaron Boone as the injury designation, and said Frazier’s already undergone some testing and will continue to do so while on the IL.

“It’s been pretty extensive so when we have all that information, full clarity, we’ll have a better answer for you,” Boone told reporters before the Yankees hosted the Mets Friday evening. “Doctors, hospitals, things like that. Just trying to, if we can uncover something or get to the bottom of anything. It’s a litany of tests he’s going through.”

Frazier's dizziness could've been caused by having to constantly look up at the rest of the American League East in the standings, especially the hated Red Sox. New York's stuck in fourth place, just two games above .500 and trails division-leading Boston by 9.5 games.

For Frazier and the Yanks, things can't much worse. The 26-year-old began the year as the team's starting left fielder and was being counted on to be provide some pop to the lineup after a promising 2020 season. Now a reserve, Frazier heads to the 10-day injured list carrying a .186 average.

If it seems like both Frazier and the Yankees are on the struggle bus this season, that would be a fair assessment. Just don't plan for them to get off the bus anytime soon if the team's equipment staff is behind the wheel.
