Yankees Equipment Truck Gets Stuck; Crashes Into Door At Fenway Park After Loss

It was a rough weekend for the New York Yankees in Boston, getting swept by their biggest rival, the Boston Red Sox.

New York falls to fourth in the AL East, 6.5 back of first place Boston with a record of 40-37.

As if losing 9-2 Sunday wasn't enough, the Yankees equipment truck ran into what looked like a door to a loading dock as it tried to leave Fenway Park Sunday.

Here's a tweet with a capture of the truck hitting the door as it left the park.

The Yankees have struggled against the Red Sox in 2021, losing all of the first six games between the two clubs, including three this weekend in Boston.

“Everyone was well aware of the importance of this game,’’ Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole said after the loss.

“It’s a pretty brutal feeling to let the team down like that.”

Cole was a big part of the problem in Sunday's loss, allowing five runs on eight hits in the setback. The loss drops him to 8-4 on the season with a 2.66 ERA.

It was a good weekend for the Red Sox, as they have now won four of the last six games, all against AL East opponents. They overtook the Rays for first in the division with the win Sunday.
