Dr. Fauci Has Been Rejecting Fox News Invites Since July

Hardly a day goes by that at least one schmuck on television doesn't host Dr. Anthony Fauci for the latest updates on the doctor's mindset. Some days, Fauci appears on multiple channels to answer the same questions with the same answers. Fauci regularly appears on CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and NBC. Not included in that group is Fox News.

According to a report from Politico's West Wing Playbook newsletter, Fauci has rejected every invite from Fox News since July except for an appearance on October 17's Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.

"Fauci, the Biden administration's go-to communicator on Covid-19, has almost entirely stopped appearing on Fox News since July," Politico writes.

Fauci is not only avoiding his critics -- like Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham -- but also news anchors who are not known for their opinions. Per an official familiar with bookings at Fox News, Fauci has declined invites from Bret Baier and Neil Cavuto for months.

So it's less about Fauci running away from criticism than Fauci refusing to leave the comfort zone with his friendly allies on the other networks.

Notably, Fauci makes regular appearances on MSNBC's Deadline with Nicolle Wallace. Wallace made a friend of Fauci after publicized emails suggested he dismissed evidence that the coronavirus likely leaked from a Wuhan lab. Take a look:

These emails made him look good, huh?

Not all hosts can provide such a service. Next up, it's ABC George Stephanopoulos's turn to assist Fauci on air.
