Mary Nabokova Is Back With Fall Pics, Braves Win The World Series & 'Let's Go' Brandon, Minnesota

Well, it didn't take long for the Jemele Hills of the world to claim that Virginia is filled with racists who voted in a racist governor

The state of Virginia has a new Republican governor this morning after Terry McAuliffe, who kept pumping out fake pediatric COVID hospital numbers in a desperate ploy to win office, took the L and now goes off to do what failed politicians do for employment -- he either goes to work for CNN or some fundraising job that pays him millions.

I sat there last night listening to all the talking heads ramble on and on about last night's vote and noticed how quickly the talking heads at CNN distanced themselves from 'Defund the Police.' They sure loved it in 2020 when it worked in their advantage as cities burned and their electorate was fired up to vote out the Republican president. Now here we are in 2021 and crime statistics are through the roof and all of a sudden CNN political pundits are like, well, nobody in the Democratic Party thought that was a sound idea.

Weaponized? LOLOLOLOL. So local politicians weren't serious about actually going forward with defunding departments? Last night, an attempt to replace the Minneapolis Police Department with a public safety agency failed on the ballot.

It's all so laughable. These same talking heads sat there a year ago saying how police forces needed to be rebuilt from the ground up. Now they're running as fast as possible away from that talking point because it's a massive loser. Watch how fast Democrats run away from defunding the police and straight back to a "We want to protect you!" platform. It's coming soon.

I didn't want to start with politics this morning because it's just a major downer right out of the gates, but it's going to be everywhere today and I couldn't let the CNN scumbags off the hook without commenting.

• Let's quickly move on to the Braves winning the World Series. Remember back in April when MLB caved to the wokes and moved the All-Star Game from Atlanta over an elections law? It feels like two years ago. Yet another scumbag, Rob Manfred, had to stand there last night in Houston and hand over the "piece of metal" to the Braves. It's funny how these things work out in the end.

• I hate to ruin the fun for the baseball fans out there, but it's highly likely Major League Baseball will have a work stoppage on December 2, the first in 26 years, as the current contract between MLB and the MLBPA expires December 1.

• Let's get to the CFB Final Four. How many times do I have to tell people from fringe conferences that they're not getting into the party? Let me say it again for those of you who refuse to get on board: As long as it's a four-team playoff, you're (Cincinnati) not getting into the Playoff. You can dick around with analytics all you want. You can fire off a bunch of tweets about strength of schedule, wins over ranked opponents, blah, blah, blah.

If you're not bringing eyeballs/dollars to ESPN in January, you're not getting in. This is a business and some of you out there just can't figure it out. In 2012, ESPN signed a 12-year, $5.64 billion contract with the CFB Playoff (Power Five conferences). Quick math tells us that's $470 million a year to broadcast the games. ESPN isn't a charity. They need to turn a profit on those games.

Sorry, Cincinnati fans, your school isn't bringing ESPN a high rating, which ESPN needs to satisfy advertisers. It's beyond time people realize why certain teams get into the Final Four.

• Now let's move on to my trip to Tractor Supply. It was a very, very good idea to leave the kids at home. I pull up and TS has the mini-bikes, mini-ATVs and off-road UTVs sitting right there at the front door. I dodged a Christmas present bullet, that's for sure.

The 9-year-old will have to settle for a Red Ryder to use at his grandpa's basement target range. That should make him happy.

• Aaron H., our resident Home Depot tipster, checked in Tuesday with some shopping advice:

The weeks after Halloween aren't the beginning of Christmas Season, it's "paint & carpet" season. Holiday parties & grandkids all yearn for new light fixtures, vanities, faucets and all manner of cosmetic fixtures. Find a carpet installer now or you'll be out of luck until January.

Makita brushless 18v compact recip saw, great for plumbing & tight spaces, $139.

DeWalt 20v Lithium drill driver/impact combo, $149.

Ridgid 6gal pancake compressor, $99.

Happy hunting.

• Indy Daryl has some thoughts on a few topics that have been floating around Screencaps the last few days:

Your comments about how to live life in our world, seeking out the good in others and trying to provide some along the way are well taken.

Thanks and have a great Tuesday!

• Now get out there and have a great Wednesday. The sun is out here in Ohio -- we had flurries last night -- and in the 40s. The plants are officially toast for the year and now comes the massive leaf dump that will have me busy all month.
