Julio Jones Gets New Jersey Number, And It's Not What You Would Expect

For most who have kept up with the career of Julio Jones, there are two jersey numbers he is connected to. The first is the No. 8 he wore during his three seasons at Alabama. The other is the No. 11, which is the number he's worn for the Atlanta Falcons the last decade.

If you really want to dive deep, Jones also wore No. 82 back in high school when he played for Foley down in south Alabama. So I guess that's three different numbers he's donned during his playing career.

Now that the star wide receiver has been traded to the Tennessee Titans, many have wondered what number he will wear moving forward. Third-year pass-catcher AJ Brown already had the No. 11, and while he was willing to give it up for his new teammate, Julio politely declined.

So what number is it going to be?

Rookie punter James Smith out of Cincinnati currently has the No. 8, but that wouldn't be a problem if Julio wanted it. And if not, former Mississippi State receiver Fred Brown is wearing the No. 82. Considering he's a longshot to make the roster, that number could also be available.

Did Julio choose either of those? Nope, he went with a completely new number. Check it out.

I guess any defense that has to play the Titans this year is going to absolutely hate the No. 2 by game's end. With Julio now wearing the No. 2 and Derrick Henry rocking No. 22, that number may haunt opposing defensive coordinators.
