Florida Stripper Lawsuit Case Will Be First Fully Virtual Case In U.S.

What could possibly go wrong during the first fully virtual trial in U.S. history that will include a binding verdict? I haven’t even mentioned that it will take place in Florida or that it is a stripper lawsuit. I know what you’re going to say here — there have been court cases via Zoom during Corona 2020. 

According to the Jacksonville NBC affiliate, this will be the first Zoom case to have a final binding agreement and the whole thing being settled remotely. The case is a civil injury liability lawsuit brought by a stripper, Cayla Griffin, at Paradise Gentleman’s Club who says she was beaten and severely beaten. There will be a remote process to jury selection and then the case will proceed.

Again, this case will be littered with Florida Man and his cohort Florida Woman. It should make for incredible theater and this is where I drop the very good news. You’ll be able to watch the trial virtually! It doesn’t sound like it’ll be live footage, but since it’s a virtual court case I have to believe there won’t be any editing out kids interrupting during cross-examination. Or dogs barking. Or side pieces walking through the room.

Something very Florida is going to come out of this and I’m ready for the action to get underway tomorrow with jury selection.

Duval County Court Clerk Ronnie Fussell told FloridaBar.org that his office did some research and they say this will be groundbreaking work. “We don’t have evidence of anything else that was binding anywhere.”

Looks like Zoom stock likes the idea of court cases going virtual. Nice 2% gainer today.
