Joe Exotic Whines About Jail Conditions: 'America Is No Better Than Russia'

Joe Exotic is not having a good time in prison.

In an exclusive interview with OutKick the Morning on Friday, the "Tiger King" himself (whose real name is Joseph Maldonado) told host Charly Arnolt about the miserable conditions he's forced to endure behind bars.

"President Biden needs to pull his head out of his butt, okay? Because, look, America is no better than Russia," Joe explained. "If you look at Brittney Griner and Paul Whelan and Trevor Reed, anytime they were in court, they were in street clothes. They were never belly-chained or shackled. Okay? And they just had handcuffs on, and we're bitching that Russia is so bad.

"When you look at somebody in an American courtroom, we're in orange jumpsuits with belly chains on, shackles to our feet and our hands tied to our bellies. And we look guilty from the minute we walk in the courtroom, whether we're on trial yet or not."

Famous for the Netflix docu-series Tiger King, Joe is serving a 21-year prison sentence for a murder-for-hire plot. But he maintains his innocence and claims he is "suffering wrongfully in prison in a cage."

Now, he's calling on politicians to do something about the "corrupt" criminal justice system. He says he's collected photo and video evidence from inside the prison on a cell phone — which he bought from a correctional officer for $3,000.

"You would never believe the mold, the algae and the leaking roofs. You just wouldn't. You wouldn't," he told Charly. "And when they lock you in solitary — and I've been in solitary for two years and eight months of my sentence — when they lock you into solitary, you cannot shave. You cannot brush your teeth properly. You cannot take care of yourself. It's crazy what America does to our citizens."

It's been a rough few years for the embattled zookeeper. While in prison, Joe developed prostate cancer which turned into bladder cancer. Last spring, he was reportedly peeing blood, but he chose to ignore the ailment in the name of justice.

And even through all of these hardships, the 61-year-old managed to launch a presidential campaign. But just in case he doesn't win the election, he's giving Republican candidate Donald Trump a chance to make things right.

"I gave Trump a list of what Americans are sick of and an opportunity to view evidence from the inside," Joe wrote on Instagram Thursday. "Waiting for him to accept."
