Ja Morant Responded To The Rock Taking A Shot At Him During WWE SmackDown In Memphis

The Rock rolled into Memphis this week for the latest edition of WWE SmackDown, which took place on Friday night.  While there, he performed a song in the ring aimed at Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, who he and Roman Reigns are set to take on at WrestleMania in April.

During the song, the wrestling icon took a shot at Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant and his off-the-court gun issues.  The Rock sang while addressing Rollins, "You’re simply an embarrassment, son.  Just like Ja Morant when he’s waving a gun."

The line did as it was intended and got a rise out of the Memphis crowd.  The Rock made sure to let Morant know that it was all a joke by adding, "I love you Ja!"

Thanks to a clip of The Rock's performance being shared on social media, Morant became aware of the "stray" that was included in the song directed at his tag team opponents Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

Because Morant just can't help himself when it comes to guns, or evidently when it comes to mentions of him with guns, he felt the need to respond to The Rock's song.

Ja Morant Could Help But Respond To The Rock Mentioning His Gun Troubles

So he took to X and responded to a comment from "The Tribal Chief Of Grizz Twitter" that said, "Ja out here catching strays lol."

He replied with a popular 50 Cent meme of the rapper saying, "What he say ‘F*ck me’ for?!"

Morant started the season by serving a 25-game suspension for all of his gun-related social media activity and was hopeful that he could turn the page on all of that.  His return to action was short-lived.

In early January, after playing in just nine games, his season came to an end due to a shoulder injury.  As far as Ja Morant and guns on social media are concerned, this has to be a step in the right direction.  Although, the NBA would likely prefer that he sits these interactions out.
