The Rock Takes A Shot At Ja Morant During WWE SmackDown In Memphis

The Rock gave a verbal smackdown to Grizzlies star Ja Morant on Friday night in Memphis as the legendary wrestler geared up for his upcoming WrestleMania return.

The world's ‘most electrifying man in sports entertainment,’ definitely brought the entertaining part to WWE Friday Night SmackDown when he ripped Morant and his past gun issues that saw him receive a 25-game ban earlier this season.

EVEN JA MORANT WASN'T SAFE FROM THE ROCK

The wrestler-turned-actor-turned-wrestler again kicked off Friday night's WWE SmackDown by doing a promo inside the ring against upcoming opponent Seth Rollins. At one point, Rock grabbed a guitar and began singing a song where even the Memphis hometown crowd's Ja Morant caught some strays.

"Cackling and dancing is all that you do," The Rock began. "No wonder that your wife's more popular than you. You're so damn desperate to make them all cheer, but The Rock is going to make that title disappear. You're simply an embarrassment, son. Just like Ja Morant when he's waving a gun!" Johnson sang (quite horribly and out of tune, by the way.)

For those that haven't been up-to-date on their wrestling as of late, The Rock is currently a heel right now - meaning he's a bad guy and is going after anyone and everything - including Ja Morant in front of his hometown crowd.

But even The Rock knows that it's probably not the best idea to rip Ja Morant in Memphis of all places, considering Memphis has become a crime-ridden mess. Fortunately for Johnson, this was at the Grizzlies' FedExForum and not at a Memphis TopGolf.

"I love you Ja! Get better soon!" The Rock smartly added.

MORANT SUSPENDED OVER GUN ISSUES

Ja Morant found himself in a wave of controversy last season after he repeatedly went on social media flashing a gun - despite being warned not to. As a result, the NBA suspended him 25 games - his second gun-related issue at the time, in which league Commissioner Adam Silver said that the All-Star's behavior was ‘disconcerting. Morant has since suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.

We'll see if The Rock is able to back up all his talk the weekend of April 6th when he faces Seth Rollinsand Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.
