Horror Movie Shot Entirely From The Killer's Perspective Comes With One Of The Most Unsettling Trailers Ever

I'm a huge horror movie nut. Love that stuff. Can't get enough of it.

Frankly, it's why Halloween is my favorite holiday. What a psycho, right? Don't care. Michael Myers till I die.

Anyway, I've seen every type of slasher film under the sun. Campy, corny, gory, disturbing, real-life, found footage, documentary – you name it, I've seen it.

But even I have to admit, the upcoming movie In a Violent Nature even has me stumped. The trailer is a masterpiece. The idea behind it is so simple, but I'm not sure it's ever been done before …

The entire thing is shot from the killer's perspective. You don't really ever see his face, because all the kills are just from over his shoulder. From his point of view.

It's brilliant. And it's unsettling as hell:

In a Violent Nature is about to flip the horror genre on its head

My God. How has nobody ever thought of that? Maybe they have and I just don't know about it, but people seem to be pretty intrigued by this movie, so I assume it's because it's never been done before.

Anyway, here's the official plot, courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes:

When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year-old crime, his body is resurrected and becomes hellbent on retrieving it. The undead golem hones in on the group of vacationing teens responsible for the theft and proceeds to methodically slaughter them one by one in his mission to get it back – along with anyone in his way.

The Canadian slasher film is being described as an "ambient slasher" and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. It's set to be theatrically released here in the good 'ol US of A on the last day of May.

As for the people who've already seen this sick little movie … they LOVE it. It's got nearly a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes as of today, with 28 precincts (reviews) reporting at 93%.

This particular review piqued my interest:

It’s only January, but one of the kills executed so beautifully by In a Violent Nature feels like a shoo-in for the year’s best and most memorable.

Can't wait. Inject this movie straight into my veins come Memorial Day weekend.
