Democrat Congresswoman Says Black People Shouldn't Pay Taxes Because Of Reparations

Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas is facing immense criticism after recently suggesting that black Americans should be exempted from paying taxes as a form of reparations.

Yes, we are still arguing about this in the year 2024.

In an interview on "The Black Lawyers" podcast, Crockett said that because black American labor was "stolen and killed," it's only right to allow them to not have to pay taxes because blacks are "already far behind," because of the position that white people put them in. Maybe she forgot that there was a black President in office for 8 years named Barak Obama. But hey, let's not let facts get in the way!

DEM REP WANTS NO TAXES FOR BLACK AMERICANS

"I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea to have black folks not having to pay taxes for a certain amount of time, because then again, it puts money back in your pocket, but at the same time, it may not be as objectionable to some people because you aren't actually giving out tax dollars," Crockett explained.

Ah yes, the Congresswoman is referring to the $1,200 per person COVID Relief checks that were given out to the entire country at an astounding $2.3 trillion. Her logic is that unlike when the government actually "gave out" that money, Congress shouldn't be upset about black people not paying taxes because at least it wouldn't be coming from the government's bankroll if it was never collected in the first place.

Huh?

Where does Crockett think the rest of the tax money that the government, which by the way is already $34 TRILLION dollars in debt, is going to come from if 14.4% of the population isn't going to pay any taxes? Oh, that's right, you and I, regardless if we're white, Chinese, Indian, Irish, Native American, Japanese, or any other nationality that had nothing to do with the horrific actions that happened in previous centuries.

WE'RE TO BLAME

Later in the interview, Crockett said that anyone who doesn't believe reparations should be given out is wrong. "To think that America doesn’t owe the descendants of slaves is an error," the Congresswoman added.

I guess that whole oath she took to serve ALL the people and not just some of the people was a lie.

The idea of reparations has grown in recent years

California has put forward over a dozen different reparations bills after th state's ‘reparations task force’ listed a number of ways to repay people for slavery. It's important to note that the bills don't distinguish between people whose ancestors were victims of slavery, or those that have come to the country since.

The lovely city of San Francisco proposed a $175 billion bill to taxpayers that would give roughly $600,000 to all black households over the age of 18 in reparations. Downtown San Fran is a ghost town right now with businesses shutting down and others like Whole Foods moving out over crime and safety issues, but apparently reparations is their priority.

In 2021, Evanston, Illinois became the first city to pay reparations after the city voted to give $400,000 for all eligible black households, which was funded in part by donations as well as a 3% tax increase on recreational marijuana sales.

According to FBI crime data, Evanston currently has a crime rate higher than 93% of the rest of the state.
