Dana White Offered To Resign From The UFC To Protect Joe Rogan During Cancelation Attempt
Dana White was willing to go to lengths to protect Joe Rogan during a cancelation attempt.
There was a massive effort to cancel the popular podcast host and commentator in 2022 over his stance on COVID and old jokes resurfacing.
Rogan held firm, did offer some clarification on old jokes and comments and was ultimately able to weather the storm.
It turns out that Dana White drew a line in the sand and made it clear that if Rogan went from commentating UFC matches, he was also going to leave.
Dana White offered to resign over Joe Rogan cancelation attempt.
The UFC mastermind appeared on Lex Fridman's podcast to discuss a lot of topics, and it was revealed he offered to quit the UFC if Rogan was held off broadcasts. UFC events air on ESPN and ABC and major events are PPV. Rogan didn't appear on the UFC 271 broadcast, but it's never been revealed why other than a scheduling conflict.
"I value loyalty a lot. I remember there was a moment not too long ago, maybe a year ago, and I was sitting with Joe and he had a phone call with you and Joe was getting canceled for something and they didn’t want him commentating the fights and you on the phone offered your resignation over this," Fridman said during the interview with the UFC boss.
White appeared to confirm that the claim is true, and responded with, "Anybody who is with me, has been with me, knows when you’re with me, you’re with me. It’s a two-way street. It’s not a one-way street. I’m not one of these guys that is gonna roll over."

This really does say a lot about who Dana White is as a man. Joe Rogan is a great friend of his and they've been working together for a very long time.
The attempt to cancel Rogan was clearly coordinated. It was clear that he'd made himself the enemy of the left, and they wanted to silence his massive microphone.
It failed. Not only did it fail, but Rogan is more powerful and popular than ever before. He had Dana White in his corner, and not only was White in his corner, but the UFC official was willing to fight to the end to help Rogan.
If that meant resigning, then so be it.
People have to stand up to cancel culture. If we don't, then our society is truly lost. It's great to see White didn't let Rogan be silenced. Instead, he stood tall, and he should be applauded for that. Let me know if you agree at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
