After previously saying he’d take on Jake Paul anytime, UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell says Paul isn’t good enough to fight him.
Liddell told TMZ Sports on Friday he would “hurt” the YouTube star.
“He’s not good enough to fight me,” Liddell said. “It just doesn’t make sense for him. None of it makes sense for this guy. He’s going to risk getting hurt like that?”
Paul’s next fight, which could be on Showtime Sports, has not been set but rumors about Liddell being Paul’s opponent started after Liddell responded to a tweet earlier this month.
Paul fired back at Liddell, posting a pic of the two after the Askren fight and saying, “This guy Chuck Liddell begged me for a pic after my fight and now is talking shit on Twitter.”
He clarified he did not ask Paul for a photo after the personality’s latest fight. Liddell said it was Paul’s people or someone associated with the event who asked if he would take a picture, Fox News reports.
In his short boxing career, Paul is undefeated having beaten Ali Eson Gib, Nate Robinson and Ben Askren in between the ropes. He will be in his brother Logan’s corner when he fights Floyd Mayweather Jr. on June 6.

The Iceman is the real deal not this other clown
At this point, I would take Jake Paul. Liddell was a shell of himself years ago.
Liddell used to be a great mma fighter. But he took too many punches and has lost 6 of his last 7. Paul would probably knock him out.
Jake Paul has actually looked pretty decent boxing. Would love to see him fight a real boxer. Not a top 10 talent. But an actual boxer with real boxing experience.
