Christian Eriksen Speaks Out After On-Field Collapse: 'I Won't Give Up'

Saturday was absolutely terrifying for anyone who was watching the soccer match between Denmark and Finland. Though only 29 years old, Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field after suffering cardiac arrest, and had it not been for the quick thinking by teammate Simon Kjaer and medical personnel, Eriksen might not be with us today.

The move was undoubtedly heroic, and now the road to recovery for Eriksen begins. He's still in the hospital as doctors try to figure out where things went wrong on Saturday, but we did get a statement from the attacking midfielder on Monday morning.

"Thank you for your support. I will not give up," Eriksen's statement reads. "I feel better, but I want to understand what happened to me. I want to say 'thank you' to everyone for everything you have done for me."

The terrifying situation seems to be trending in the right direction, and all we can do is continue to pray for a full and quick recovery for the Danish professional soccer player. We will continue to provide updates as they come.
