Chris Cuomo Under Fire For 'Black On The Inside' Remarks

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo was merely trying to be hip, but instead he walked away from his on-air exchange with Don Lemon looking silly.

And now Cuomo is facing a backlash. His crime? Telling Lemon, "I'm black on the inside."

Cuomo's comment came after Lemon asked Cuomo how he knew the words to the 1970s sitcom Good Times, which featured primarily black actors.

Cuomo later tried to clarify himself for the forever-judgmental crowd on Twitter.

"There is no understanding what it is to live as a black person in America if you are white but it is so important to listen," he wrote. "The majority must change racism."

CNN has of course remained silent on the matter, perhaps given Cuomo's liberal ties.

Cuomo is the younger brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and it's safe to say Chris is still in better shape than Andrew when it comes to the jury of public opinion.

Five women, including several former aides, have recently accused Andrew Cuomo of sexual misconduct. The Cuomo administration also allegedly significantly altered a report on long-term nursing home deaths from COVID-19.
