Jake Paul Defeats Tyron Woodley With Split Decision, Improves To 4-0

Jake Paul stunned American viewers with yet another improbable win after he defeated UFC's Tyron Woodley in an eight-round event on Sunday. The cruiserweight victory was decided by split decision, scoring Paul two winning cards, 77-76 and 78-74, against Woodley's 77-75.

Paul now has a 4-0 boxing record.

The eight rounds of Paul vs. Woodley action exceeded expectations from social media skeptics who winced at the idea of watching Jake Paul fight on the canvas. Though Paul did get stunned by a couple of clean shots from Woodley in the later rounds, the 24-year-old celeb hung on for the win and remains undefeated in his quasi-professional boxing matches.

Paul's previous three wins (via KO) came against YouTuber AnEsonGib, retired basketball player Nate Robinson and UFC's Ben Askren.

"I don't know what to say but he's a tough opponent," said Paul, following his anticipated fight. "He has been boxing, fighting and striking for 20-something years. I have been doing this for three years."

Generating the same brand of hype as a clickbait thumbnail, the Paul vs. Woodley pre-fight theatrics went from contentious public encounters from the fighters, to mothers getting in on the beef. The brawlers brushed off their fighting words as soon as the bell went off at the end of the eighth though.

"This was a tougher fight than I expected," added Paul. "My legs felt weird from the locker room. I don't know what to say. He put up a good fight and came in shape. I have nothing but respect for him. There was a lot of shit talk, but I apologize if I offended his team."

After having a reported career day in fight earnings, Woodley then taunted Paul into committing to a sequel fight following the split decision.
