In typical Paul brother fashion, no person is off limits in the name of fight promotion.
Anticipating the August 29 bout against former UFC Welterweight champ Tyron Woodley, Jake Paul and crew saw a prime opportunity to get in Woodley’s head by first stirring up his mother, who was happy to get in on some smack talk.
During a pre-fight news conference held Thursday, Deborah Woodley and Team Paul were spotted jawing off at each other, which sparked a tense crowd to gather once Tyron stepped in to start drawing some lines in the sand. The UFC fighter was evidently pissed at Paul’s crew for getting involved with his mom.
“One thing I don’t do is disrespect,” commented Woodley. “And when disrespect comes to my mother, it’s a whole issue. F*ck this money, f*ck this bag, f*ck the pay-per-view, f*ck the fight. When it comes to that, it will not be tolerated.”
The two fighters reunited the following day for the official weigh-in; clearing the way for a Sunday beatdown that most of us expect to go Woodley’s way.
If he didn’t have a muse before, he’s definitely got one now.
