Early Week 7 Bets: Battle of the Unbeatens

Now to the game:

Who would've thought the Week 7 Steelers-Titans matchup could decide home-field in the AFC? It absolutely could. Forget their records. These are the two best teams in the AFC and maybe even the NFL.

It's close, but the Steeler defense edges out the more balanced Titan roster as the top team in the conference. I expect to see this play out on Sunday.

I'd take Pittsburgh favored by 1.5, but since they're 1.5 dogs, I'm betting now to avoid a line change.

Pick: Steelers, 27-23.

Broncos (+9.5) at Chiefs

Easy one.

Don't let Kansas City's 245 rushing yards against Buffalo fool you. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is no Barry Sanders, and the Bills' run defense presented little opposition.

The Chiefs are not blowing teams out this season. They start slow, pivot to pitches and screens late, and struggle to get off the field on defense. Right now, 9.5 is too much to give them.

Denver is the best 2-3 team in the NFL. The Bronco defense took Cam Newton out of the game.

In Week 7, Denver handles Patrick Mahomes the way that fellow AFC West teams — the Raiders and Chargers — have done before them: by taking away big plays and keeping him on the sidelines.

The Broncos are the no-brainer bet. In fact, I'm going with an upset win.

Pick: Broncos, 30-26.

Bucs at Raiders (+3)

It's hard to figure out the Bucs. Sunday against the Packers, they looked ready for the Super Bowl. Other weeks, they looked like they may not even make the playoffs.

The Raiders, on the other hand, are really good. In head-to-head victories, Derek Carr outplayed Mahomes and Drew Brees.

This season, Carr is second in passer rating and first in completion percentage. In other words, he's an MVP candidate.

Sunday, he beats Tom Brady.

Pick: Raiders, 31-21.
