Battle Of The Bros Is Set Between Jake Paul, Tommy Fury

Videos by OutKick

Jake Paul has his next opponent, and this time around he will be matching up against an actual boxer.

Paul announced on social media that he will take on British boxer Tommy Fury on Dec. 18.

“Pucker up Timmy, it’s time to kiss ur last name and ur family’s boxing legacy goodbye,” Paul tweeted Friday. “DEC 18th Im changing this wankers name to Tommy Fumbles and celebrating with Tom Brady…”

Paul continued talking trash to Fury on Friday, and tweeted that tickets for the fight will go on sale Nov. 10.

The 24-year-old Paul is 4-0 in his career, with his last win in August when he defeated MMA fighter Tyron Woodley in a split decision. The 22-year-old Fury is the half brother of boxer Tyson Fury. Yahoo Sports reports he is 7-0 in his professional career, with four of Fury’s wins coming by knockout.

The fight was announced Friday, days after Paul said a fight with Fury “doesn’t cut it” for his fifth fight.

Yahoo Sports reports the fight should provide Paul with his biggest challenge yet as Paul’s first two fights came against opponents with no fighting history — YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA player Nate Robinson. Paul then took on Ben Askren and Woodley next, defeating them both.

Fury started fighting professionally in 2018 and Yahoo Sports reports his last win came in August, when he defeated Anthony Taylor as part of the undercard before the Paul-Woodley fight.

Paul may have impressed some boxing fans with his win over Woodley, but light heavyweight Fury didn’t appear to be one of them, as OutKick previously reported.

It’d be over inside a round,” Fury said of a match against. Paul in early September. “From what I’ve seen against Tyron Woodley the other night, he’s scared to throw a punch when he’s in with somebody who could even knock him out.”

Tyson Fury seems to have faith in his younger brother, though, as he said earlier this month he would retire from the sport and make his brother change his last name if he loses to Paul.
