Arch Manning Lowers The Boom, Runs Over Defender During Team’s 27-7 Win

The legend of Arch Manning continues to be written this fall at Newman High School (2-0) where the sophomore continues to impress with quarterbacking abilities that now include running over defenders that get in his way.

Arch – nephew of Peyton and Eli, son of Cooper – led Newman to a 27-7 win over Country Day Saturday with nine carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns. His passing was nearly flawless, completing 17 of 22 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown.

While the stats were excellent for the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the class of 2023, it’s the trucking he put on a Country Day defender that has people talking. Sure, the kid can throw the ball and has that elusiveness for which Mannings are well known, but now we know Arch is willing to crush a defender and get up to talk about it.

“Arch is an athlete,” Newman defensive back Chris Hunter told NOLA.com. “A lot of people don’t think about that, he can run. He’s been putting in the work over the summer. He’s not scared. He won’t slide.”

Those of you hoping to get a better look at Arch are in luck this week. Newman plays this Thursday on ESPN2 at 9 ET against Booker T. Washington. The presidential debate isn’t happening, and Chiefs-Bills has been moved to Monday, October 19. That means the night belongs to Arch.
