This weekend is setting up quite nicely, again. I have counted 21 games that are extremely fascinating to keep the peepers. on from just an entrainment value aspect. I am going to go ahead and tell you that we will make money again this weekend because we know where the edges are to corral some cash. Since we are talking edges, let's take a sneak-peek at a couple of things that are standing out.

Purdue (3-2) @ #2 Iowa (6-0), total 43.5

Make no mistake, the Hawkeyes are riding a mountainous wave of good vibes after a comeback win against Penn State. They stay home and welcome Purdue into the building this weekend with a betting total now of 43.5. Iowa has become known for low scoring but guys, Purdue is quietly 5-0 on the UNDERS this season. That's all the games. Iowa is a paltry 4-2 to the UNDERS by comparison. In fact, Iowa went over last week (41.5) but the game ended on 43, under this week's number right now. Purdue had lofty expectations from the bookmakers for their offense but it has not been there at all. Last week was their lowest betting total of the season (46 against Minnesota) and still they managed only 13 points on their own, 33 for the game total. We may get a hungover Iowa team pounding a bad offense from Purdue to a 3-0 final.

UCF (3-2) @ #4 Cincinnati (5-0), total 57.5

Speaking of teams having a good week... hello Cincinnati. Although I remain upset that they kept scoring against Temple last week, it's time to realize that their shot for real, legitimate playoff glory is now. Winning matters but impressive dubs matter even more. UCF is an interesting test in-conference. The Knights are coming off a lethargic performance against East Carolina and were clearly focusing on this massive road game. The Bearcats are in a tough position playing one of their two toughest remaining games while trying to look good to those who matter in the process. The total on this game is 57.5. Both of these teams have combined to go 7-3 to the OVER this year with UCF's only under coming last week. If you read my piece yesterday, you'd already know despite last night’s near-miss, the total of 57 (or it's half-a-point kin) is killing the over in the last three weeks. Follow the current trends fam, and you might be striking green.

UAB (4-2) @ Southern Miss (1-5), total 43.5

I love games like this. These are the games no one wants to bet on because they aren’t watching it and almost no one will even know it happened. It's not sexy. No one is ranked. It's a smaller conference intra-conference battle. One of the teams is pretty bad and hard to watch. Oh, and no one scores. WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?!?!?! The total for these titans is hovering at 43.5. Southern Miss is 124th in the nation in scoring (16.5 points) and UAB is 90th (24.8). UAB also houses a salty defense, allowing just 22.2 per matchup. Also, UAB has only managed 40 points or more one time (North Texas, 106th scoring defense). Smelling pretty good right? UAB/USM have combined to go UNDER in 7 straight games and each team has only gone OVER once this season AND these monsters are a combined 10-2 on the UNDER this year. She’s perfect.
