The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is the most-watched musical performance of the year, with more than 104 million viewers tuning in to last year’s show.
Multi-platinum three-time GRAMMY Award-winning R&B star The Weekend will be headlining Pepsi’s Super Bowl LV Halftime Show at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday in Tampa, Florida, this year.
Abel Tesfaye — the Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer known professionally as The Weeknd — said he is humbled and honored to be the center of the infamous stage this year.
“We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position,” The Weeknd said.
Shawn ‘JAY-Z’ Carter said the halftime show will be an extraordinary experience with an extraordinary performer.
“The Weeknd has introduced a sound all his own,” JAY-Z said. “His soulful uniqueness has defined a new generation of greatness in music and artistry.”
Super Bowl LV marks Pepsi’s tenth year as title sponsor of the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Past halftime performances from artists including Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Prince, and Madonna.

Listen to your Uncle Ted…
Well he has to be better and more relevant than any of those past performances other than Prince or Bruno Mars but think I’ll go join wife in her tv room and watch some of the puppies during halftime.
I don’t know what y’all are complaining about, The Weeknd is good, so was Prince and Bruno Mars.
Enjoy the Puppy Bowl?
Yep usually better than the game and they don’t take a fucking knee they may take a dump though
Who cares
You told me and I still don’t know.
Who indeed? Over half the country doesn’t even know who The Weekend is. Oh that’s ok this satisfies some sort of quota so 13% of our country can get the feels. Meanwhile in Chicago…..
Well, never heard of that guy and will never see him again. The 2 minutes I watched – and had sound up – were more than sufficient. Then the dancers in “white face” topped a forgetful event.
Whiteface? WTF? Not their usual DemoKKKrat Klan hoods?
