Weird Injury Alert! Juju Smith-Schuster Turns Ankle Stepping On Ref's Flag

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster appeared to turn his right ankle by stepping on a ref's flag during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Smith-Schuster was shown limping off the field after one of the crazier ankle-rolling tweaks you're ever going to see in the NFL. According to FootballZebras.com, NFL flags are weighed down by balls of sand sewn into the flag.

Watch the slow-motion video below and look at where Smith-Schuster's foot lands and how his ankle reacts. I'm no Dr. Chao, but it sure looks like he landed on that ball of sand and that twisted his ankle. The Steelers called it a toe issue, and Mike Tomlin said after the win over the Jags that it's not a significant injury. However, he did say “it could be a factor for him” when getting ready for the short week. The Steelers play the Ravens Thursday night in Pittsburgh.
