WATCH: Pres. Biden Booed During Wed’s Congressional Baseball Game At Nationals Park

Baseball fans were treated to the annual Congressional Baseball Game between Republicans and Democrats on Wednesday night, hosted at Nationals Park one year after the game was canceled due to the COVID pandemic.

The game welcomed a sparse group of fans in the stands who got to watch the GOP overtake the Democrats on the field, 13-12, off a rare Congressional Game homer by Florida Rep. Greg Steube. Florida’s slugger popped the pitch deep left, narrowing the Republican deficit to 6-8 in the third. The red team then rallied seven more scores to narrowly edge out the Dems, nabbing their first Congressional Baseball Game victory since 2016.

In the middle of the second inning, the contest was temporarily paused to introduce none other than President Joe Biden as he arrived before the Washington crowds. The 46th president, who appeared on the Jumbotron, was welcomed by a healthy mixture of cheers and booing.

Video released from the scene displayed some genuine rancor from the crowd, stemming from the botched Afghanistan exit, rampant inflation, vaccine mandates and Biden’s costly $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill intended to be paid by increasing taxes.

Also present at the festivities Wednesday night was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. According to the Fox News report, the lead Dems’ attendance at the game sparked some added critique from former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, calling the cameo a distraction from unresolved international and domestic affairs.

She tweeted, “The fact that Joe Biden has time to go to the Congressional baseball game but not time to take questions on Afghanistan or see the humanitarian crisis at the border is a disgrace. #DoYourJob #StrikingOut.”
