Video Of The Day: The 2,000 MPH Fastball

Getting hit by 100 MPH fastballs looks painful on TV, but Baseball Vault posted a video on Twitter of what that would look like at 2,000 MPH. Nothing compares to what this would feel like.

Most fans of baseball have an obsession with velocity, like watching Nolan Ryan chuck blow 100 MPH heaters by hitters like it's nothing. How about watching a ball shot from a cannon go through nine gloves like a knife through a steak at Ruth's Chris? Did anyone see the ball blow through the manikin? For anyone that's walked into a DICK'S Sporting Goods and punched Century Bob's Torso--it's hard. The dude has absolute abs of steel.

These baseballs were flying 200 miles-an-hour faster than the speed of a bullet. We can never understand what possessed someone to make this machine, but it's wildly entertaining. Wouldn't put it past Steve-O to try and haul in a catch off this machine would we?
