Although Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made recent threats to Hezbollah, an Israeli official told the AP that Israel had “nothing to do” with the explosions.
Per Axios, Lebanon’s health minister has said that at least 30 people have died and 3,000 more were injured in the blasts. According to Reuters, Lebanon’s interior minister said “highly explosive” materials were used in the blast.
This is a developing story and we will provide any relevant updates.
The two angles of that big blast make it look like a mini tactical nuke 👁
I was in Beirut in 1982, saw a beautiful city being destroyed. I thought they had put all of this behind them, but sadly, apparently not.
Not much info yet, but the shockwave alone could have hurt many within a half mile. Terrifying.
Prayers to those in the destruction. That looks like a hell of an explosion.
