Video Emerges Showing Henry Ruggs Out Hours Before Deadly Crash

New video reportedly shot hours before Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III crashed his Corvette into a RAV4, killing the female driver, shows the 22-year-old hitting golf balls at Top Golf. Why is the Top Golf angle of importance?

There are rumblings within the Vegas community that Ruggs had a significant number of drinks at the establishment and that investigators have visited Top Golf to review surveillance tapes, according to Scott Roeben, the guy behind the influential @VitalVegas account.

In the video, it appears Ruggs is having a normal night out, hitting golf balls with his girlfriend Rudy Washington. In one photo from Ruggs' Snapchat, a drink can be seen. Washington told police the couple had been drinking mai tais.

How did the night go from Top Golf to travelling at an estimated 156 mph down a Las Vegas road before crashing into the RAV4 driven by 23-year-old Tina Tintor? Roeben is of the belief that there was a stop after Top Golf and seems to be focused on Ruggs stopping at a friend's place after the driving range. Police reports state Washington confirmed that to police.

According to a witness to the aftermath of Tuesday morning crash, he tried to remove the woman from the vehicle, but the fire quickly became too much. Tony Rodriguez told KTNV that he was on the scene at about 3:30 a.m. and thought she could be rescued.

"I thought for sure we were going to be able to do something. The fire was so small at the time," said Rodriguez. "It just grew fast. Really fast. There was one person with a fire extinguisher, a county worker, that didn’t work. It wasn’t enough. It was just so fast," told the TV station.

Ruggs, who was released by the Raiders hours before appearing in court on felony charges, was released from jail on a $150,000 bond. He is prohibited from driving, consuming alcohol or drugs and will be be monitored electronically under conditions set by a judge.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson told reporters Wednesday that Ruggs could face additional felony charges, including a charge of carrying a firearm while intoxicated.

According to a police report, Ruggs yelled at police and "attempted to tear IVs out of his arm" at the hospital. Ruggs reportedly told police he didn't remember what happened and he was heading home.
